Moving rootvg disks to another system sometimes works if *ALL* of the
required drivers are present (disk, scsi, ...). You will need to boot
from SMS since the boot list has the PVIDs stored in nvram on the system
board.
Once the system is booted use the bootlist command to update the boot
list in nvram.
You may need to boot into maintenance mode and start a shell, to run the
bootlist command.

The procedure goes on to say that if removing the memory modules doesn't
help you should move on to the system board and other components.
Taking a disk from one system and using it to boot another can work, but
isn't always simple. It should be OK with PCI hardware but expect to
have
to change a few things and at the least run cfgmgr with the install CD
loaded.
I've only done it with an MCA SP2 node and that was a lot of trouble,
(but
better than the alternative at the time, since I had some critical data
that
wasn't backed up). I'm told PCI servers are much easier, and of course
the
PSSP configuration added to my woes.

Thanks Simon. This is the procedure I had the FE follow but it did not
correct the problem. There were only 2 simms in the system. They are
going
to take another system to the site and try swapping in the new memory
from
the new system. This system had only two disks for the rootvg mirrored.
Can I take the disk from the old system and put them in the new system
and
boot it up? Is there some steps I need to do to make this work?
Thanks,

The 43P Service Guide is the only source of information on this. It
basically describes removing the memory modules in order to find the
faulty
one.
There's no quick and easy way: you'll have to be methodical and you'll
end
up booting the system lots of times, potentially.
In my copy of the manual, it's MAP1240 on page 2-12. Don't skimp on the
steps, or try to take shortcuts.

Subject: LED Error Code E301 on p43-150
Hello Admins,
I look all over for this error code and found something about memory but
it
referred only to E3xx. I tried pulling out one chip then replacing the
one
left in with the one I pulled out but still get the same error on
bootup. I
could not find any other reference to this LED code. Anyone have any
other
suggestions?
Thanks,
