lpar for p670

Hi All,
I have a p670 attached to an HMC. We are running only one partition on it, though I set up the machine with two almost identical partitions, one that goes into SMS and one that doesn't. I have noticed that the partition I created was only using 16GB of memory instead of the 32GB in the machine, so from the HMC I tried up'ing the "desired" amount of memory. As well, I tried to get it to boot from a partition that doesn't go straight into SMS, but boots right into AIX. Then I started getting this error message: "No contiguous real mode memory (0x3) There was not enough real mode memory available to start one or more partitions. To correct the problem " . . . and it goes on about how to bring up the partitions in a certain order.
I've since tried various variations, including what I thought were my original settings, with no luck. Maybe I accidently changed something else that is effecting the memory. Or could there be a problem with the memory?
Do you have any ideas?
Thx, Nadine
