Re: HACMP question

Hi,

discovery & sync does not touch the running resources and/or filesystems.

Subject: HACMP question

Guys,
we have 2 x P570 running AIX 5.3ML3 and HACMP 5.3. We have added a new VG enhanced concurrent capable, all looks OK, disks can be seen on both nodes, same pvid, to add it into HA the notes say you need to run discover and synchronise the cluster.
All the notes say this can be done with the cluster up and running. My question is does this mean it will effect the underlying apps, in this case oracle. Someone has said last time this was tried a while back HA remounted all the filesystems and hence brought down Oracle.
Anyone know if you have to add a VG into the cluster with the apps down?

Thanks,
