Re: Fixing duplicate filesystem after importvg

Best way I can think of, since you have filesystems with the same names
currently...

Add an entry to /etc/filesystems to mount them on like /tmp/<temporary
mount point>

Then do the:

chfs -m <new mount point> /<old mount point>

That should update the VGDA/LVCB...

Subject: Fixing duplicate filesystem after importvg

I recently moved some volume groups from one server to another. Due to
an
oversight on my part I failed to notice that there were two filesystems
which already existed on the target server. (Not sure how I managed
that: I
found the others OK.)

Fortunately, these weren't important but I would like to keep them
around
for a while in case we need to refer to the data.

I can manually mount the LVs, or I could edit /etc/filesystems to create
appropriate entries. However, that won't update the disks so if I have
occasion to import them again I'd have the same problem.

So what's the best/simplest way to give these filesystems new names?
