Re: HMC issues

Dave,
Halt the system and go into the SP. select option #2 then option number 10
to reset the service processor. After that you can check to see if you
getting a DHCP address if you go to option #5 network options then option #1
to configure, then option #1 to configure eth0 you should see an address
from the HMC. I think the default address is 172.168.2.147, you might need
to then do the restore factory settings.

I could use some help. I was installing an IBM P series server with a
Hardware Management Console configuration (HMC) with dhcp. By mistake, I
booted up the managed server before the HMC was configured and now the HMC
will not recognize the server to be managed. The managed server sticks on a
hardware code of E000011 instead of the "01 N V=F" that means its ready
for HMC discovery. The HMC management guide troubleshooting section
described flipping a jumper on the Service Processor Assembly board. I
performed the steps described and it still hangs on E000011. Does anyone
have any suggestions as to how to get this manages server connected?
