I would direct you to EMC's web site, there are a several good documents on
how to do this. Plus you can download all the software there.

You will need to install the driver for the Clariion:

EMC.CLARiiON.fcp.rte 5.2.0.3 COMMITTED EMC CLARiiON Fibre Channel

Plus install Navisphere and Power Path.

Power path runs in 2 modes: If no license key is entered you get basic
failover, with a license key you get load balancing as well. Power Path is
licensed by the frame (p650, p570, etc).

Loading the OS on the SAN disk is pretty straight forward, just make sure
there is only one path to the disk (a single HBA). Do not introduce the
2nd HBA (second path for mpio) until Power Path has been installed and
configured.

Hello all,

I received some documentation from one of the IBM Global Services
Specialist on how to install AIX on a SAN storage disk. According to the
documentation I have, you can install a couple different ways. I found
some more documentation on the Dell/EMC site and this seems to be a little
older than the one I received from IBM. Again, a few different ways that I
can go about the install. I was hoping to find someone that has had a
successful install of the OS and maybe point me to some more documentation
on this subject. I have a call logged with support, as I had some general
questions, but I was told they would have to call me back.
Any advice, or problems you can share would be greatly appreciated.


Configuration:
Dell CX600 CLARIION..
IBM p570 AIX 5.3 TL04
EMC PowerPath 4.5.2 Navisphere 6.19
