You can "bribe" an IBM service engineer, to give you "flip-flop hmc" cd.
That can gives you bash shell on screen 4 (CTRL+ALT+F4).
I think this is the only way on HMC version 3x and later, but let me know if i'm wrong!

need to get on the HMC and run various commands as

However, it's all restricted shell, can't run commands
with "/" and path is minimal etc.
How do I get a useful working environment on the HMC ?
