Hi Larry,
2006/9/29, Larry Scheetz <LScheetz@xxxxxxxxxxx>:
In default case (not big VG) the t=1, max PV / VG = 32 and PP / PV = 1016.
the PP per VG is set to 1016. I know the command chvg –t command I think I
would do a T factor of 3 since I need 2500 PP's. My question is that if I
run the command chvg –t 3, I would think that this would then change the
setting to 3048. Is this correct? Also, can I run this on a live system or
will I need to reboot or umount the vg first?
Yes, if you change the 't' factor to 3 the PP / PV will be 3048.
So don't forget about side effect the modified VG can only contain maximum
10 PV! (max. PV / VG is to 32 / 3 = 10)
The chvg -t .... command can run on live system without any unmount or reboot.
See 'lsvg vgname' before chvg and after :)
Cheers, Zoltan
