No issues for us. We went to scalable VGs this last time converting
from a standard VG.

Subject: Big VG's
Admins,
I've been digging through the archives to find some info on this and
didn't come up with a whole lot. I just have a couple of questions
regarding a big VG setup.
I have a system connected to an ESS via SDD. The oraclevg by default has
a limit of 32 PV's, which I've hit. I'd like to convert this to a big VG
so I can expand 'oraclevg' farther without adding another volume group.
I read a few articles where the lvm commands are slower, but that's not
really much of a concern. Management would be more concerned about
database performance in general. Everything I've read says that there
isn't any type of performance degradation after converting to a big VG,
but I just needed some verification. Also, how long does the conversion
take? There are about 15 LV's on this VG totaling 600gb or so.
Regards,
Darryl
