I learned from the Administrator Guide when it was
much simpler and did not offer so many options, but
that has been the story of my life (no training), if
you have a simple environment, I would start that way
then after dealing with it for a couple of months get
into some sort of training, that way, when the
instructor refers to something, you would have a
better understanding of what the heck he's talking
about.
regards,
Enrique.

Folks,
It appears that we're going to be dealing with TSM
in the next year or
so. I was wondering what experiences folks on the
list had as far as
what training they felt was required before they
jumped into it and used
the product.
We've got a pretty simple environment, one tape
library with some
machines to dump from, so it's not a huge,
complicated environment, but
I've heard from a couple folks that strongly
suggested getting classroom
time.
Would redbooks and other self-help materials be
sufficient, or do the
folks here feel that classroom time is a must for
dealing with TSM?
TIA!
