"STARTING KERNEL"....
I'm going to restore (for the 3rd time) my 5.2 system and check all the
device microcode. I booted from the 5.3 CD to a recovery prompt and the
install LOOKS ok, but who knows. I don't do this enough to keep in
practice, then another person left and it's mine again.
My goal is to migrate a system running on an H50 to a new 510Q. My plan
was to upgrade 5.2 to 5.3 on the H50, take a SYSBACK image and then
restore it to the 510Q. I can't find the old 5.2 install CD's, so I
don't think I can restore the 5.2 system to the 510Q without it asking
for the CD's for the 64bit OS. The 5.2 systems are pretty far back
level. (I have a test box that I'm working on now, to get a plan for
the production box.)

I've done a AIX 5.3 migration install (from 5.2) on an H50. At
reboot, the status display says "STARTING KERNEL" and it doesn't go any
further.
Any ideas?
