The remove/replace is my 3rd option in this scenario.



This option must be considered, just in case I don't have a PCI slot my
new ssa card will fit into; Issues with 64/32 bit pci slot
availability.



I'm going to Hot-Swap.

I'm not sure that you need the "-R". Disconnect the cables, put the new
card in, cable them up and run cfgmgr again and the disks will be picked
up again. Their SSA IDs are the same, so they'll be recognised as the
same pdisks and hdisks.



I take it you don't have another card you can cable in. Or hot-swap PCI
slots?

I may need to swap out an SSA card, it's been a while, and so
this is what I'd do:



I'm concerned the rmdev -dl ssa2 -R does not remove the hdisks,
only the pdisks.





1. umount -a
2. Check I have redundant paths; (ssa2 and ssa3 both see
all my pdisks in this loop), they do
3. rmdev -dl ssa2 -R
4. diag
5. pci tasks
6. remove/replace ssa2 in what ever pci slot its in.
7. add the new ssa card
8. cfgmgr
9. I'm good.



Am I missing anything?
