Re: HELP - stale partitions

Hi,

Thanks for ppl's answers. First - Hans-Dieter Kutz <hdkutz@xxxxxxxxx>
suggested to run some cmds, here they are with their output:

Script command is started on Fri Dec 15 20:34:07 IST 2006.

Script command is complete on Fri Dec 15 20:35:06 IST 2006.

"Cargill, Bill" <BHCargill@xxxxxxxxxx> suggested running diag to verify which hdisk is faulty - as can be seen above, hdisk0 has been removed so IF it's a h/d issue (not scsi) then this is probably it (diag obviously doesn't see it).

As for "Davignon, Edward" <Edward.Davignon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>'s sugestions (see below), I can probably not do it rmotely (:-) :-(), will try to check Saturday night ... BTW - to boot into service from the aix cdrom do I have to change the bootlist, or will a F1 at boot time suffice to get to the diag menu ? [t'was so straightforward with the key in the MCA days...).

Have you tried booting from a CDROM and running diag? That would rule
out software.

Try physically reinserting the harddrives, maybe some thing on the scsi
bus has a bad connection.

Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend,

p.s. errpt -a shows a PHYSICAL VOLUME DEVICE MAJOR/MINOR of:
0000 0000 0000 0000 ; what's this ? hdisk0 is:21,3 ; hdisk: 21,0
and scsi0-2 respectively are: 14,2 ; 14,0 ; 14,1
