Re: Jaguar tape paths

Thanks, Bob. I have been investigating the problem a little further and
here's what I've found. The lspath command does not support 3592 drives. It
only supports devices that are controlled by the AIX MPIO driver. Also, I
have re-read the Installation and User's Guide of the Atape driver and found
absolutely nothing that would help me find the answer to my question. Atape
has no documented tools to get detailed path information about the devices
it controls.

The AIX version, by the way, is 5.3, no TL, no SP.

Any more ideas?

In the meantime, I'll try to contact the guys on adsm-l.

Thanks,

sbzx

What version of the OS is your customer using?

Have you used the 'lspath' command, so see what weights have been assigned
to the pri and alt paths?

You might also ask this question on the adsm-l list, as there are many
users
of AIX and 3592 tape tech there. They will probably ask the same
question,
so be prepared to describe your customers environment in your note.

cheers,

bob
