Has someone run "errclear 0" recently? That would do it. I might check the
root user's
.sh_history, to see if this has been done.

Did you check that you have free space in the "/var" filesystem?
Also check your root crontab file to see what your cleanup procedures are.

I have an AIX box running 5.1.0.0. When I attempt to look at the error
file"errpt", it comes back with nothing. I have checked and the errdemon
process is running and the attributes on it. Also, there is an errlog
