complilation error

Hi,

I am trying to compile apache 2.0.59.
Unfortunately I get the following error when executing make

ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .sqrt
ld: 0711-345 Use the -bloadmap or -bnoquiet option to obtain more
information.
collect2: ld returned 8 exit status
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.
Stop.

Details of my system:
AIX 5.2 ML 01
gcc (GCC) 4.0.0

Any suggestions?
