I've been using jfs2 heavily since 5.2 came out. I have had corruption on
both jfs and jfs2 since. It shouldn't be any worse than jfs in term of
issues, and, the only jfs I support now is on legacy systems.

Subject: Fear of JFS2
I've always been afraid of JFS2. Early on, JFS2 had a series of nasty APARs
with terms like "data corruption" and "lost data" and "inconsistencies" in
the descriptions. Some years ago, my site actually experienced data
corruption on a JFS2 filesystem, which confirmed my fears. (We had to
create files larger than 64G on that filesystem, so we had to use JFS2.)
But that was then and this is now. I don't recall seeing any serious JFS2
APARs recently. What's the feeling out there? Are people using JFS2?
Successfully? Do you lay awake nights worrying about the data that you have
on JFS2?
Thanks for your thoughts,
anker
