Hi Dario,
to answer your question it would be good know which data
Volume you want to make available, and which requuirements
are to be met.
There are some "commodity" or "poor mans" solutions
On the other hand only a professional solution might
meet your requirements better.
E.g. there are software iSCSI Targets for Windows (commercial ) or
Linux ( not so commercial ;-) )
With those you can make available convential Disk Space via iscsi in
a network
Penalty: not really fast, not robust for professional needs
and big storage volumes
Also there are "commodity ISCSI Storages" with small data volume
available for "small price" but those are thought more for the
"Intel" Hardware market ( =< 5000 Euro )
Do you need professional iscsi-Cards / Disc Storage and
big data volumes ?
Then it is good to know which might be the potential "Server
Platforms" ?
sorry if it is no direct answer, only more
questions ...

hi all,
We are looking for info and products iSCSI based.
The target is a low cost sort of SAN, in multivendor site.
Aix has an iSCSI/ethernet card, Gbit/eth card, a driver (AIX 5.2/5.3).
Found some references about NetApps connections (Tcp/ip sendspace,
jumboframes etc)
iSCSI is unknown to all the CE i know... i've found noone in Italy
with actual project in field..
any of you have experience to share? caveats or useful literature?
thanks in advance
