Re: upgrade to 5300-05

Antonio,

RPM is Redhat Package Manager. It originated in the Linux world, but is
now included in AIX. It is used on AIX to build and manage packages
that originated from Linux.

The AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications web page is
http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/aix/products/aixos/linux/download.html

It is a web front end for
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/

The web front end has the latest packages. Older packages are available
on the FTP site.

The command for checking what is installed in rpm is:

rpm -qa | sort

i did try to install the csm.server directly, this is what is missing
for the 5400-

05.

- it asks for csm.server 1.5.1.0, which i downloaded from the fix
central.

- when i try to install it fails, with the following message:

checkrpmreqs: 2653-389 RPM package tcl is a prerequisite4 for
csm.server.

checkrpmreqs: 2653-389 RPM package tk is a prerequisite for csm.server

isn't rpms something for linux.... ???
