OK, thanks for that info; still hoping for a tool that reports jfs log activity, instead of a guideline.

somewhere in the network I found a rule of thumb of
4MB of jfs2log per 2GB of data, I tried to look for
that information again today, since I'm creating a
bunch of jfs2 filesystems and wanted to make sure it
is worth keeping a 1Gb jfs2log.
