Re: MAX disks on an AIX 5.3 system

All 4 of my HBAs went unavailable at the same time. This 595 frame as 4 other
LPARs and the EMC box they connect to are unique to this frame only. No other
LPARs on this frame/Symm threw any errors. Could not read files via ls but
could "cat" them.

Subject: MAX disks on an AIX 5.3 system

Posted this same question in comp.unix.aix.

This is not a question about max disks in a VG. Rather, how many disks
can an
AIX server have before it starts to lose track ? I have a 595 with 6
HBAs on
it and > 2700 hdisks and hdiskpower devices total. All told, about 25TB
of
disk space on it. We're seeing some weirdness on the server. Anyone
have any
insights ?
