Are you creating a UDF (Universal Disk Format) DVDRAM disk?
i.e. using the -U option with the mkdvd command?

If so this does not work correctly with AIX 5100

Microcode on the 6H1
DVDRAM microcode
Did you enable support for any hardware platform on the mksysb ?

Environment: 6H1, DVDRAM drive, AIX 5100-05 with a few ML 06 filesets

Problem: DVD mksysb boots to LED 518 during maintenance mode boot. Never
gets to an install screen. This is even with a very stripped-down mksysb
(no special filesets, no mirroring, etc.). No errors during the mkcd
creation. Using the same DVDs and hardware and process as we do on other
systems in this data center (including some at AIX 5.2 that work just fine).

Is there any known issue with DVDRAM mksysbs and AIX 5.1?

I'm not in a position to do any upgrade given the client involved and the
applications on it.
