It's very slick...
Servername, Sharename, Username/Password, mountpoint, UserID/GroupID, Read-Only/RW, surviving a reboot, domain access.
I haven't had much luck w/ Active Directory Domain Username/Passwords for authentication, but it works well with Windows local accounts.

Subject: SMB Connections
Samba by itself will not let you access Windows file shares from AIX. You need CIFS ( aka SMBFS) support. CIFS is included with AIX 5.3, but if I remember correctly, it is not installed by default.
You need to install the following filesets.
bos.cifs_fs.rte 5.3.0.50 C F Runtime for SMBFS
bos.cifs_fs.smit 5.3.0.50 C F SMIT Interface for SMBFS
