Re: conflicting instfix output

I don't recall when the compare_report command was introduced, but it
would make it very easy to compare the two systems if you have that
command at your level.

Re: conflicting instfix output

Hi Grant,

these machines are really on 'ML05' but all filests are not on same
version - imho.

Check it 'intsfix -i | grep ML' and 'lslpp -l ' on machines and
compare the outputs
to see tha actual differencies.

I hpe this help.

Cheers, Zoltan

2007/12/20, Grant Harders <gharders@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:
I have an interesting problem. I am preparing to upgrade the firmware
on a
fiber-channel adapter on hostA. A prereq is APAR IY69751. I have the
files
for this APAR, as I installed them on hostB earlier in the year. So, I
installed
IY69751 on hostA.

When I run instfix -ivqk IY69751 on hostB (the one upgraded earlier this
year),
I receive an AOK and the following message:

hostB: instfix -ivqk IY69751
IY69751 Abstract: bb_credit_save PdAt attribute needed for FC adapters

Fileset devices.pci.df1000f7.com:5.2.0.61 is applied on the system.
Fileset devices.pci.df1000f7.rte:5.2.0.31 is applied on the system.
Fileset devices.pci.df1000f9.rte:5.2.0.31 is applied on the system.
Fileset devices.pci.df1080f9.rte:5.2.0.31 is applied on the system.

When I run the same command on hostA (the one just upgraded), I receive
a
NoGood and the following messages:

hostA: instfix -ivqk IY69751
IY69751 Abstract: bb_credit_save PdAt attribute needed for FC adapters

Fileset devices.pci.df1000f7.com:5.2.0.75 is not applied on the
system.
Fileset devices.pci.df1000f7.rte:5.2.0.75 is not applied on the
system.
Fileset devices.pci.df1000f9.rte:5.2.0.75 is not applied on the
system.
Fileset devices.pci.df1080f9.rte:5.2.0.75 is not applied on the
system.

Both hostA and hostB are at level 5200-05.

So, what gives?
