Download Xming (a free X-server for Windows) and install it on your PC.
Then use Putty to ssh to your AIX box (enable "X11 forwarding" in Putty under
Connection/SSH/X11) and start your X apps in the shell, they should now
appear on your desktop.

This tunnels your X11 traffic through SSH so that its encrypted, it is
also by far the easiest setup since you dont have to worry about any
client side firewalls or anything else on the wire as long as SSH is
working.
