I've un-sp'd boxes before -- it is not hard at all.

That's really interesting. I'd suspected that and, in fact, we no longer
use the high speed switch (long story...), so that wouldn't be an issue
for us. The trouble for us, though, is that an un-SPed configuration is
unsupported, which makes it strictly off limits for us.
