alt_clone problems with running apps

Hello,

My colleague has just surprised me with the following statement:
"If applications are running and/or keeping files open while you
attempt to clone the rootvg with alt_disk_install, the target disk
will not be bootable."

He mentioned BroadVision and Oracle as examples for applications which
caused such problems.
I was not here when it happened, so I'm not aware of the exact circumstances.

Did you ever experience anything similar? This is absolutely new to
me, I have done this several times w/o problems.

regards
LGee
