/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-####
replace #### with the device from ifconfig -a that you want to
configure.
Some options:
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
DHCPCLASS=
HWADDR=00:AA:11:22:33:44
IPADDR=1.2.3.5
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
ONBOOT=yes
ETHTOOL_OPTS="autoneg on"
DNS1=1.2.3.4
eth0:1, etc. for IPV4 aliases

I know this is a bit off topic as it is pSeries related, not necessarily
AIX.
Can someone point me in the right direction to configure a network
adapter on SUSE Linux on a Power6 p510?
Its set up as a full system LPAR, no VIO server, and we are having a
heck of a time getting the adapter configured and on the net.
Thanks.
