AIX Virtualization?
Hi All,
I have an F80 running AIX 5.3 that is getting a little long in the tooth.
# oslevel -s
5300-10-01-0921
(1) Is it possible for me to virtualize this system? If so, what kind of
hardware/software would I need to do so?
(2) If virtualization is not an option then I would like to move the
software and data onto newer hardware. Any recommendations on hardware that
is cost-effective and will run this environment would be appreciated. In an
ideal world I would be able to take a mksysb tape and restore it on the
replacement hardware. Note that the newer hardware only needs to run my
environment. This system is no longer production so its more important that
I be able to preserve the environment for what it offers rather than
actually deploy back into production.
I would be happy to provide additional hardware / software information on
the existing system for clarification purposes.
TIA
