Matt @ Dragonfly has asked for some 'network detection' code to be added, to check if there is even a network connected, before he'll add it to there base system ... and someone else suggested adding code similar to postfix's port to have *it* prompt and auto-add the appropriate lines to /etc/periodic.conf ...

Plus, of course, next phase being to try and get a simple email system in place as described by Max for those 'hard to reach places' ...

But, again, those are all extensions to, and don't affect the backend ... the changes discussed as needing to be worked on will not cause problems for v3.x or newer clients ...
