    I would backup my data and start from scratch. So many things has changed.
    One of the more importen is the filesystem change from UFS to UFS2 which
    requires a newfs.

    Please note that 5.x is not as stable as 4.x or at least should be. If your
    laptop crashes due to buggy apm support 5.x might be a better choice. Please
    note might.
