    hi there...

    i cvsupped some minutes ago, and built a new kernel after i saw an issue on
    this current list meaning it would be fixed... and after i saw some changes
    by sos while cvsupping...

    not the message (see subject) about timout is gone... but the kernel still
    does not boot... it just hangs at the same position.

    i turned off apic and acpi...

    the courious this is... when i boot with -v... sometimes... only
    _sometimes_... the kernel boots fully into console...

    this is very strange... (and strongly indicates a timing issue?)

    in -v boot bode i see the freeze happening after:

    -> ata1-slave: setting PIO4 on VIA 8235 chip

    some other small stalls seem to happen after:

    -> GEOM: configure...

    and as the other posts.. its a liteon-cdrw at ata1-slave

    is this realy a problem with liteon ?!

    i remember i read in the linux kernel list, that sometime ago, they had
    problems with a cdrom by sony... i cant remember what exactly the problemw
    as... but they someone pointed out this drive does strange things... maybe
    some parallels with this issue now?

    now the "boot -v kernel" output... well, this output was taken while the boot
    finished... no freeze... but the next boot did freeze again... realy!

    btw: i set the system to no-overclock to test if that was the issue... without
    success... the overclocking didnt matter...
