    Interesting, maybe the problem is not general but tied to specific
    hardware or setups? I have 3 machines all with at least /usr, /var
    and /home on vinum without seeing vinum problems:

    One is pure IDE, one pure SCSI and one a IDE SCSI mix.

    PS. I know there are sometimes other problems with vinum, like when
    PKH changes APIs faster than the rest can keep up with, and I'm not
    talking about those problems.
