I have the same problem with a USB keyboard on freebsd/ppc, -HEAD. Goes away when kbdmux is disabled, so I think it's a generic problem and not just atkbd-related.
Me too.. (on i386)
is your usb controller uhci(4), ohci(4) or ehci(4)?
