Thanks but as I wrote in my posting this I have already done!!!!
The problem is that i run out of space!
My /usr is 8G big.
This is probably nothing new to JAVA!
I googled the queery: Please update your ALT_BOOTDIR setting and start your
build again.
This is a few of the hits I got.

Hi,_______________________________________________
The problem is that you have to manually fetch the java in
to /usr/ports/distfiles. As you can see from the beginning of your compile
log that you included:
===> openoffice.org-2.1.20061201 depends on
file: /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/bin/java - not found
===> Verifying install for /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/bin/java

Due to licensing restrictions, certain files must be fetched manually.
Please open http://www.sun.com/software/java2/download.html
in a web browser and follow the "Download" link for the
"JDK 5.0". You will be required to log in and register,
but you can create an account on this page. After registration and
accepting the Sun Community Source License, download the
SCSL Source file, jdk-1_5_0-src-scsl.zip and the
SCSL Binaries file, jdk-1_5_0-bin-scsl.zip .
In addition, please download the patchset, bsd-jdk15-patches-3.tar.bz2,
from http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/jdk15.html.
Please place the downloaded file(s) in /usr/ports/distfiles
and restart the build.

So download the files as explained above and try again.

Hello,
I don't know if this is already widely known (this is my first posting).
I have tried to install openoffice 2.1 rc1 and downloaded all it

I get this problem JAVA will not compile or takes all my resources I am
out of discspace.

Since I am a beginner (humanist filosopher) who dared to use CURRENT (I
also run RoFreesbie 1.2 on another disc) I would be very grateful if
someone who knows what to do could point me in the right direction.
During install I think the partition was:
...
/usr 8G
/home *
The disc is 120G
