netstat -i reports steadily increasing input errors (Ierrs) every time
packets arrive on the machine.

netstat -i, yes.
Does netstat(4) also show larger number of out-of-order TCP packets?
I'll look at netstat -s tomorrow, and trend the out-of-order TCP
packets. Thanks for the suggestion.
