Re: Promise SATA300 TX4 problems in CURRENT

On Fri, Jul 13, 2007 at 03:51:27PM +0200 I heard the voice of
Ulf Lilleengen, and lo! it spake thus:
I started encountering problems when trying to copy data from the
filesystem on one of the ATA disks connected to the Promise card. I
get these messages:
ad10: WARNING - READ_DMA UDMA ICRC error (retrying request) LBA=37814559
[...]
However, I tried installing 6.2 to see if the issue remains there as
well. And it didn't. I works excellent in 6.2.
This may be related to a problem I've had with -CURRENT on a box with
a TX2200 for a while. See
<http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-current/2007-July/074383.html>.
It failed with a couple-weeks-ago -CURRENT, and also with a -CURRENT
back in early March, but runs 6.2 like nobody's business (or I
wouldn't be typing this mail on it ;)
