Hello,
what do you think about adding the CPU types "k9" and "k10"? These
processors have support for SSE3 and I noticed up to 15% faster
execution of CPU-intensive programs (e.g. graphics/povray) that have
been compiled using -march=athlon-mp -msse3.

there will be no k9. k10 (Barcelona) is successor of k8 and expected
to launch late in Q4 of this year(2007).
I dont think the name matters THAT MUCH, the important thing is to support
the newer CPUs with FreeBSD infrastructure... name it "blahblah" if you
wish
not so sure about this ... specially not *this* name you suggest :)
but athlon64-x2 for S940 and athlon64-am2 for sse3 capable cpus would be kind
of understandable for all
I think all this cpus are revision E and higher and should understand SSE3
for opterons a note in make.conf might be usefull
venice as said in another mail is not clear for all people and certainly it
does not appear on the box or elsewhere
