    On FreeBSD 5.3-STABLE (cvsupped few hours ago)

    I haven't gotten integrated sound working on my
    motherboard. I should have AD1888 AC97. I almost got it working
    using the snd_via8233 driver. Here's some more info:

    pcm0: <VIA VT8237> port 0xe400-0xe4ff irq 22 at device 17.5 on pci0
    pcm0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
    pcm0: <Unknown AC97 Codec (id = 0x41445368)>

    pcm0@pci0:17:5: class=0x040100 card=0x810d1043 chip=0x30591106 rev=0x60
    hdr=0x00
         vendor = 'VIA Technologies Inc'
         device = 'VT8233/33A/8235/8237 AC97 Enhanced Audio Controller'
         class = multimedia
         subclass = audio

    Mixer vol is currently set to 100:10
    Mixer pcm is currently set to 46:46

    It just plays everything fine, xmms doesn't give any errors about
    missing device etc. The audio analyser shows jumping bars and so on.
    I just can't hear the sound. I tried all sockets, but it works fine on
    MS Windows. So it's a driver problem.

    And here's what i've done:
    Kldload snd_dirver (loaded all sound modules)
    Added the line "{ 0x41445368, 0x00, 0, "AD1888", 0 }," to ac97.c
    (dmesg changes)
    I tried FreeSBIE 1.1, it had the same problems too.

    So i guess this can be solved with a simple patch. Could anyone do that?
    Or even help me? I'll provide any info needed asap.
