embedding pdf viewers in firefox

as you can see, i am running the freeBSD OS. i have a gnome desktop. i usually run firefox browser (i note that gnome has built in browser called ephinany). i am dissatisfied with the fact that if i browse to a webpage that contains pdf content that i am forced to save the file.
there seems to be an indigenous application that fires up when i double click the file. it is called evince 0.6.1 postScript and PDF File viewer using poppler 0.5.4 (cairo). if i need to install something new that is fine, but i want to have some embedded application that
will view pdf content "in situ" instead of this cumbersome operation.

if you are just viewing them from a search engine you can tell google to let them view as html which is nice... something else thats nice that you might be interested in is the firefox pdf veiwer plug in https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/636 ... you should just have to click open and view the file


this is not feeling right to me. any advice?
