On FreeBSD 4.x I used the old SCO client to back up my FreeBSD boxes,

what I get:

mtibor@mailxf$ /usr/adsm/dsmc
Abort trap: 6

Doing a kldstat verifies that ibcs2.ko and ibcs2_coff.ko are both loaded.

I don't know if installing /usr/ports/misc/compat4x would help - I guess
not, but it might be worth a try.

I'd missed that--I'll give that a shot.

Perhaps you should raise this on freebsd-stable, as you might be more likely
to find a fellow SCO user or someone interested in tracking an ibcs2
regression.

Good suggestion, I'll do that as well.

Thanks very much!
