    Dear listmembers,

I am using Mac OS 10.2 on an iBook and want to have a simple and
inexpensive FreeBSD desktop computer at home. I am offered a used
Dell Dimension 4100 Pentium III 1Ghz, 133 Mhz SDRAM with an 16 inch
    monitor for 300 bucks.

Has anybody on the list experience with running FreeBSD on such a
machine? I checked on the net and found that there are some FreeBSD
installation issues with the BIOS and the firmware of these machines
which can be solved with an update from the Dell website.

Any other suggestions, tips and hints are very welcome,

    Lukas
