3 button mouse question

    why is it, my mouse still works when i set the device: /dev/psm0 at the xf86config
     
    i choose ps/2 as the protocol, and i enable emulate 3 buttons, after that my mouse works but i cant use my mouse middle buttons since its a 3 button mouse.
     
    do i have to change the device to its default? since by default FreeBSD 3 buttons mouse is set to /dev/sysmouse, and from the handbook sez if i choose 3 button mouse i have to DISABLE the emulate 3 buttons.
     
    i hope anyone can clarify and explain much better, thanks all.
