    Hi,

This is a question that should be asked on freebsd-questions since
we are not supposed to answer technical questions here. Its a list
charter thing ;-) While this may seem like a simple question, it
could become a bit more involved than a one line answer or a
    pointer to existing documentation.

Openssl is included in the base system so your question really could
be "How do I use openssl from the ports rather than the base system?"
This is a bit more involved than just updating a single port since
other things may depend on it and need to be rebuilt also.

It would be helpful if you included the version of FreeBSD and
Openssl that you presently have when you post to freebsd-questions.
The more information you provide about what you have and what you
have done or tried will get a better response. Try to be as
specific as you can in your question.

I'll watch for your question on the freebsd-questions mailing list
and will add to the discussion if I can.

    Best regards,

    Randy
