I am trying to configure a Farallon EtherMac pcmcia card on a Toshiba
laptop running FreeBSD 4.8. My process to this point:
1) I have inserted the card. pccardd, the pccard daemon, energizes the
card and knows the card is in the slot.
2) I have copied /etc/defaults/pccard.conf to /etc/pccard.conf and
changed the name, "Farallon" "ENet" to "Farallon" so that the config
script would recognize the card. My /etc/pccard.conf now reads, for this
card:
#Farallon Ethermac
card "Farallon"
config auto "ep0" ?
insert /etc/pccard_ether $device start
remove /etc/pccard_ether $device stop
3) I now get a series of syntax error messages when startup tries to
read /etc/pccard.conf.
How do I change /etc/pccard.conf to avoid the syntax errors and
configure the card? Any other suggestions for getting the card to work?
Thanks,
Ted Parks
