    i am trying to connect to a cisco router via kermit and cu and
    minicom, but i am having the same problem with all of them is that,
    the router will start up and get to the point where it will ask me to
    enter my username but i am unable to type anything in.

    i am running FreeBSD ver 5.3

    what stupid mistake have i made?
