I only see mysql in one cpu as reported by top.
I just did the tests highlighted on the thread:
Progress on scaling of FreeBSD on 8 CPU systems
During that you see mysql using 130+% in top as its being scheduled on
more than 1 cpu due it being multi-threaded so this does happen
