     Have i met with success? no. Have i shared your pain? yes :) I am also
     experiencing the exact same problem on ALL of my fBSD4.8 boxes with this
     cvsupfile:
      
     *default host=cvsup16.FreeBSD.org
     *default base=/usr
     *default prefix=/usr
     *default release=cvs
     *default tag=RELENG_4_8
     *default delete use-rel-suffix
      
     *default compress
      
     src-all
     ports-all tag=.
