    Eureeka!

    I've found the problem!

    By executing growisofs under sudo I received the error
    message:

    growisofs -- executed under sudo -- exiting...

    I was executing k3b under sudo which makes growisofs
    exit.

    If I su to root, then I can run k3b and it finds
    growisofs.

    *WHEW*
