I have recently installed FreeBSD RELEASE 5.3
on three machines, two i386 and one amd64.

'ps' reveals four 'nfsiod' processes on each machine
which apparently by the man page runs on a nfs client
    machine to improve nfs performance.

However none of the machines have been setup to support
any nfs activity, nor have I been able to find where these
    processes are started.

Is this normal; useless but harmless processes perhaps?

    Malcolm
